Terrace Houses are most probably the most important recent archaeological discovery in Turkey and Mediterranean Region. Houses used to belong to the richest people living in Ephesus. Terrace Houses, also known as ''Slope Houses'' are located in the middle of Ephesus Ancient City, in front of famous Celsus Library of Ephesus. Today houses have a great level of preservation and they have been open for tourist visits since 2008. Seven units can be seen and the first unit with it's majestic welcoming hall is the most astonishing one. While you are walking through these houses, used between 1C BC up to 7C AD, you will understand how rich those people were. Beautiful mosaics and frescos makes you to understand what was called luxury. Thanks to well preserved rooms and plans of these houses, you will understand how was the life in those days.
